Rep. Jim Bridenstine, R-Okla., a leader among conservatives who hoped to dislodge House Speaker John Boehner from his post, told The Daily Signal in an on-camera interview today why he will fight to “stand up and make a change.”

Bridenstine said he would support either announced challenger —  Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, or Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla. —  as a replacement for Boehner in the vote, which took place Tuesday.

“I am very likely to vote for someone who is willing to have the courage and stand up and say it’s time for change,” Bridenstine said. “This isn’t about party infighting. It’s about party unity. The electorate back at home is looking for members to stand up and make a change. And that’s what I intend to do.”
