A suspect thought to be connected with a shooting that occured Thursday afternoon at the the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, has been taken into custody, the Associated Press reported.
“Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees,” Phil Davis, a reporter for the Capital Gazette, tweeted. “Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad.”
Five people are dead and others have been injured, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Law enforcement are still working to determine the identity and motive of the suspect, Fox News reported.
“There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload,” Davis tweeted, who said that he was not tweeting during the shooting but only posted updates to Twitter once he was in a safe place.

Republican Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland said he is working with law enforcement and asked the community to “heed all warnings and stay away from the area. Praying for those at the scene and for our community.”
