The Daily Signal is expanding its state-based reporting initiative to Georgia with Peach State native Rebecca Buis joining the team as our first-ever Georgia correspondent, based in the metro Atlanta area.
Buis brings a strong foundation in conservative policy and politics to the role. She is a graduate of Liberty University, where she earned her degree in government. Most recently, Buis worked at the Leadership Institute. She previously interned at The Heritage Foundation and the America First Policy Institute, where she gained significant experience in Washington’s policy arena.
Previously, she interned for Rep. John McGuire’s district office, where she attended various events and met former Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. She also spent time on Capitol Hill, where she tracked legislation and drafted materials for Rep. Mike Collins, the kind of ground-level work that will aid her in the new role reporting on the Peach State.
Buis will cover Georgia politics, state government, and the public policy debates shaping life in the state. Under the direction of state news editor Bruce Parker, she’ll produce breaking news, enterprise reporting, and interview high-profile Georgia newsmakers. She’ll maintain an active social media presence to bring Daily Signal reporting to Georgia readers.
“Politics has been my passion since the 2016 presidential election,” Buis said. “I am excited to join such a knowledgeable team and contribute to Georgia’s political discussion.”
Georgia is home to some of the most closely watched political battles in the country, from statewide elections for governor and U.S. Senate that are drawing national attention to policy fights in the Georgia General Assembly that often reflect debates playing out in Washington.

The Daily Signal’s Georgia bureau will give readers on-the-ground coverage that many national media outlets rarely provide.
“From immigration to election integrity, Georgia has been ground zero for issues fueling our national politics over the past decade. Our Georgia bureau aims to do right by the citizens of Georgia by giving these stories the thought and care they deserve,” said Bradley Devlin, politics editor at the Daily Signal.
Buis joins a growing network of state correspondents at the Daily Signal, which has expanded rapidly since launching the State News Network in 2025 in Virginia and Ohio. In 2026, the Daily Signal launched a California bureau and will soon expand to Texas.

The Daily Signal’s own Tyler O’Neil exposes this leftist cabal in his new book, The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government.
In this book, O’Neil reveals how the Left’s NGO apparatus pursues its woke agenda, maneuvering like an octopus by circumventing Congress and entrenching its interests in the federal government.
