$5 Million on Trees, $300K to Trans Farmers: Brooke Rollins Shares Woke Agriculture Department Spending Cuts

The Department of Agriculture has worked with the Department of Government Efficiency to slash millions in woke spending projects, from a $300,000 contract educating queer and transgender farmers to $5 million to keep trees alive.

“Probably the most stunning for me was the $500,000 grant to study transgenderism in mice,” Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told The Daily Signal.

The National Institutes of Health under the Biden administration allocated millions of dollars in taxpayer-funded grants for institutions to perform transgender experiments on mice, composing a total of more than $8 million in spending, according to the White House.

“And then there was another couple hundred thousand to queer and transgender farmers in San Francisco to talk about food security,” Rollins said.

The Department of Agriculture on March 24 announced the cancellation of a $300,000 contract educating on food justice for queer and transgender farmers in San Francisco.

“And then there was another one for trees at the Barack Obama School somewhere in the country that when you did the calculation, came out to $11,000 a tree.”

The Inflation Reduction Act funded a program allocating $11,053 per tree at Barack Obama High School.

“I don’t even think any of them survived!” Rollins said.

Americans voted for a realignment of government away from woke spending projects and toward putting America first, said Rollins, the founder and former president of American First Policy Institute.

“The layers and layers and layers of government waste that Elon Musk and DOGE in partnership with the cabinet and our agencies [uncovered] is stunning,” Rollins said. “And I think a lot of Americans realize there was a massive problem, but now that we see the depth of it, and frankly, we’re just getting started.”

“It’s crazy that our taxpayers have been funding this, but I also hope it’s encouraging to Americans that this is what they voted for in November,” Rollins added.
