Danielle Meitiv remains adamant that children deserve the freedom to be able to walk around unsupervised.
Meitiv, who along with her husband Alexander, is facing scrutiny from Child Protective services after their ten-year-old son and six-year-old daughter were picked up by authorities while walking back home from a park a mile away.
Meitiv, who advocates “free-range” parenting, defended her decision.

“What’s really sad, is that by driving our kids instead of letting them walk, we’re actually endangering them more because the No. 1 cause of death for children this age are actually car accidents,” she told NBC’s “Today.”
“Letting your children walk is not only good for their health,” she added, “it’s actually safer.”
