A five-part documentary on VICE News showcases the inner workings of the Islamic State, the violent jihadist group that has conquered large regions of Iraq and Syria and — in the video — promises to “humiliate” America and “raise the flag of Allah in the White House.”
In the first part, the filmmaker rides along with Abu Mosa, press officer for the Sunni terrorist group previously known as ISIS, as he and other militants fight Syria’s army in Raqqa. At the 4:41 mark, Mosa taunts the U.S. and describes the Islamic State’s vision.
“I say to America that the Islamic Caliphate has been established and we will not stop,” Mosa says. “Don’t be cowards and attack us with drones. Instead, send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq. We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House.”
At 6:41, the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, makes a rare public appearance. The second video of the series highlights how the Islamic State grooms children to be jihadists.
