They wanted to capture moments of American history without boring viewers. So they used production AI to bring history to life in an exhibit.
PragerU, an educational media organization, partnered with the White House last year to create the Road to Liberty exhibit in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to teach the values that formed America. The White House unveiled the exhibit in June of 2025.
PragerU CEO Marissa Streit gave the Director of the Domestic Policy Council Vince Haley one condition: It had to be engaging.
“You know that education can’t be boring, and if we’re just going to hang a portrait with a little blurb right next to it, people are just going to walk by it, and they’re not going to be interested, and they’re not going to learn that much because they’re not going to be interested,” Streit told Haley.
Haley had mentioned that he wanted to do a display commemorating the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and he suggested hanging 83 paintings in the EEOB. But Streit suggested something more interactive.
“So, what we ended up doing was we created this exhibit where it’s hanging throughout the EEOB, and next to each portrait, next to each picture, there is a box that people can scan with their phones, where the portrait can come to life,” Streit said. “And you have a John Hancock, let’s say, talking to you and telling you about his background and his experience, and what it felt like for him to sign the Declaration at that moment in time.”

The 83 paintings and their accompanying videos told the origin story of America with PragerU’s aim to make education feel like “edu-tainment,” and they have been well-received, according to Streit.
“The way people are reacting is truly a sign of how America is behaving right now when it comes to celebrating our 250th birthday,” Streit said. “There is a huge hunger for patriotism.”
AI helped create the videos, and even as PragerU was in the midst of the exhibit project, production AI was coming out with new models.
“It is moving so quickly,” Streit said. “So, the first video that we did was using a certain software, and the last video we did was using a completely different software. And you can see the evolution of the quality with just how quickly production AI is developing.”
This painting-and-video exhibit duo has also expanded beyond Washington, D.C.
“And then from there, many organizations, schools, certain states, have exhibited the same exhibit in many places,” Streit said. “And after that, we started syndicating them to embassies around the world, which is really cool because it’s nice to give our ambassadors a taste of home when they’re abroad.”
PragerU has made the videos available on its website as part of its goal to improve America’s education system.
“It’s really our gift to America,” Streit said. “They’re welcome to have it. It’s on our website.”
There are also supplementary materials for the exhibit.
“One of them is ‘The Signers,’ which is a really fun comic-style book for I would say middle readers, so upper elementary school and middle school, about the signers of the Declaration in that period of time,” Streit said. “It’s colorful and fun and very appropriate, and that’s part of our book fair program.”
The media organization is already working on another project set to release at the end of this year that will rival legacy media programs, Streit said.
“We have something cooking,” Streit said. “We’ve learned so much this year on production AI and just how to blend edu-tainment and make education fun. I’ll give you a hint: We’re going to compete fully with PBS.”
