As Trump Warns of China Dangers, Why Won’t He Go Harder?

President Donald Trump addressed the dangers of China and 2020 election interference during his address. The many valid points of concern raise the question: What comes next?

If anything, more must be done against China, Tony Kinnett insisted during Friday’s “The Tony Kinnett Cast.”

“Over a period of years, starting during the 2020 election cycle, China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history,” Trump said during his remarks, in a clip shown by Kinnett. “That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote.”

“That is a very serious thing,” Kinnett added about the voter files, reminding that only some of that information is publicly available and was “illicitly obtained.”

Kinnett also spent time discussing what comes next, especially when it comes to a need to go harder against China.

This is especially crucial as there are those, such as Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., who tried to downplay Trump’s speech. While Warner may have claimed on CBS News after the president’s address that China “was kind of mixed” on Trump winning in 2020, Kinnett could not let that stand. “No, China’s not mixed. He’s just making stuff up at this point,” Kinnett said.

Kinnett does have an issue with Trump, however, even as he does actually agree “with the president and all of what he is saying.” Despite Trump’s concerns about election interference, China still has influence on this country.

“So then why, why are we still taking in 600,000 students from China?” Kinnett asked, as he tossed off his glasses in dramatic fashion.

“If China’s this threat clearly, clearly, and they’re meddling in elections, as I believe that they are, the evidence shows that quite crystal clear, why are we importing 600,000 students who go mainly to STEM colleges and then as soon as they are done are given extra time to spend a free year in the United States?” Kinnett further asked.

“And again, we have espionage after espionage, after arrest after arrest after arrest of individuals who have come over here from China,” Kinnett reminded. “If you are actually serious about this, then you have to be serious across the board.”

Kinnett’s response, then, is to “get rid of all 600,000” students, even if the argument is that they give so much to American universities, which he acknowledged he doesn’t care about, especially those schools “that have chosen to funnel money into lesbian history, gender queer dance studies rather than actually useful things.”

“If we’re going to play this game and China’s bad and China’s interfering, yes, we need to pass the SAVE America Act,” he continued, though Kinnett pointed out it’s a matter of “preaching to the choir” since he agrees with such legislation.

Trump himself used his speech to call on Congress to pass the bill “without delay,” and Rob Bluey, president of the Daily Signal, discussed on CNN how “some Republicans certainly do” want the president to be talking about election interference, especially as it “is an issue that continues to motivate conservatives” and has prompted even more of a push to pass the SAVE America Act.

But there are other moves the administration can take.

Kinnett suggested a move, which he said he guarantees Secretary of State Marco Rubio “would not have any problem with.” Namely, invalidating Chinese visas “right now.”

“So, again, for me right here, I agree with the president, but I don’t want to hear about any of this until there are arrests, and I don’t want to hear about any of this any of this regarding election stuff until if we’re talking about foreign interference in election,” Kinnett said.

Kinnett did mention measures already in place, such as a Department of Justice investigation into China-based technocrat Neville Roy Singham, which recently expanded.

Still, he wants more to be done, especially on sending “all of the Chinese students home.” Kinnett emphasized it’s “not a race thing,” but “loyalty to Beijing.”

“There are tons of those who have fled Hong Kong, who have fled Communist China, who have come here as refugees to become citizens of the United States and stay here. Those are people that we want. Those who are coming over here to make money off the American system so that they can then send all of that IP back to China to then thwart us on the global stage? How about no,” Kinnett made clear.
