How Twitter Reacted to Harry Reid’s Retirement Announcement

Kate Scanlon •   March 27, 2015

This morning, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid announced that he will retire in 2016 and not seek re-election.

“My friend Senator McConnell, don’t be too elated,” Reid said in a video where he addressed his decision. “I am going to be here for 22 months, and do you know what I’m going to be doing? The same thing I’ve done since I first came to the Senate.”

Reid expressed his desire for the Democrats to gain control of the Senate in 2016, and said that his decision had nothing to do with his injury or re-election prospects. Here’s how politicians reacted to the news on Twitter:

In an interview with The Washington Post, Reid endorsed Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to become the next minority leader.

“I think Schumer should be able to succeed me,” Reid said.

In this book, O’Neil reveals how the Left’s NGO apparatus pursues its woke agenda, maneuvering like an octopus by circumventing Congress and entrenching its interests in the federal government.
