Red Bull Settles False Advertising Lawsuit for $13 Million Because It Actually Doesn’t Give You Wings

Daily Signal Staff •   October 11, 2014

This one will be hard to top when it comes to absurd lawsuits.

Energy drink company Red Bull settled two class-action lawsuits over its claim that “Red Bull gives you wings.” It seems some consumers took the slogan literally, and when they didn’t actually grow wings, sued the company for misrepresentation.

In the settlement, Red Bull agreed to pay $13 million, money that anyone who bought a Red Bull in the past 12 years could claim (without ever having to produce a receipt). As news spread this week, millions of people reportedly signed up for a $10 refund or $15 in Red Bull products.

Red Bull, of course, admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement. Instead, it simply hoped to avoid additional litigation.

The Daily Signal’s own Tyler O’Neil exposes this leftist cabal in his new book, The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government.

In this book, O’Neil reveals how the Left’s NGO apparatus pursues its woke agenda, maneuvering like an octopus by circumventing Congress and entrenching its interests in the federal government.
