Philip Wegmann •   June 10, 2014

Illegal immigration is back in to the spotlight on Capitol Hill as the White House and congressional Republicans spar over the “urgent humanitarian situation” facing thousands of young immigrants marooned in Arizona.

With immigration reform supporters in Washington this week, lawmakers gather today for the monthly Conversations with Conservatives event at 11 a.m. ET in 2237 Rayburn House Office Building. It will be broadcast live on The Daily Signal.

Conversations with Conservatives is a group of free-market and liberty-minded members of Congress who meet each month to discuss pressing issues. This month’s topics are expected to range from immigration reform and the Bergdahl prisoner exchange to an expected vote on the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development appropriations bill.

The event is chaired by Representatives Raúl Labrador (R-ID), Tim Huelskamp (R-KS), and Jim Jordan (R-OH). Other participants include Reps. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Mick Mulvaney (R-SC). Additional participants may be attend.

The Daily Signal’s own Tyler O’Neil exposes this leftist cabal in his new book, The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government.

In this book, O’Neil reveals how the Left’s NGO apparatus pursues its woke agenda, maneuvering like an octopus by circumventing Congress and entrenching its interests in the federal government.
