Conservative podcaster and former Trump political adviser Steve Bannon was released from prison Tuesday morning.

Bannon served four months in a federal prison in Connecticut for defying a subpoena to appear before Congress to testify as part of its investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

His scheduled release was announced by the Bureau of Prisons. The 70-year-old Bannon was set to resume his “WarRoom” podcast Tuesday morning, according to The Associated Press. He has also scheduled a 3 p.m. news conference in New York City.
