Mother of Benghazi Victim: ‘Why Can’t They Just Tell Me the Truth?’

Natalie Johnson •   June 19, 2014

Many Americans celebrated the capture of Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the alleged leader of the Benghazi attacks. But Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, one of the four men killed there that night, was not among them.

Smith told CNN in a heated interview that she still lacks information about the night of Sept. 11, 2012, when the attacks were carried out.

“My son is gone. He is dead,” Smith said. “Why? That’s what I want to know. Why? Why were those decisions made? Not a bunch of baloney they’ve been handing out. But why were those decisions made?”

She added, “Why can’t they just tell me the truth?”

Smith faulted the State Department for failing to shed more light on why the men killed in the American diplomatic mission in Libya were not given adequate security the day of the attack. She stated the little information she has received from the department are “all lies.”

“They haven’t told me anything,” Smith said. “Any information I’ve gotten has been from the outside … not from the State Department.”

Smith also criticized former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for not being more forthcoming about the attacks.

“They don’t care! They don’t give a damn! All I’ve asked for is for Hillary to give me a telephone call and tell me what happened,” Smith said. “But, no, she gets to know. Everybody else up there in the big shot wing gets to know … but the mother of the son that got killed is not allowed to know these things.”

In this book, O’Neil reveals how the Left’s NGO apparatus pursues its woke agenda, maneuvering like an octopus by circumventing Congress and entrenching its interests in the federal government.
