President Donald Trump is putting America First fighters in charge of the agencies that actually run this country, and his pick last week to lead the Department of Justice Antitrust Division is no exception.
Meet Adam Candeub: the guy who helped write the Project 2025 playbook for reining in Big Tech and who has spent his career going after the swamp, Big Tech censors, and unhinged monopolies (instead of so many innocent private businesses in America, like the Biden administration did).
Senate, confirm this man yesterday.
Candeub isn’t some thoughtless ideologue who discovered Big Tech is a problem last week because it polled well. He’s been in the trenches on this fight for years—pushing back on Section 230 so platforms can’t censor conservatives and then hide behind “we’re just a website, bro” logic. He’s been one of the few people in Washington, D.C. actually trying to fix it instead of just posting about it on X.
At the same time, Candeub doesn’t think every successful company needs to be punished or broken up. He’s said flat out that antitrust needs to be based on actual economics—real harm to real consumers—not vibes, not headlines, not “this company is big and that scares me.”
Novel idea, I know.

Biden’s people spent two years blaming “Big Chip Bag” for inflation instead of admitting that printing trillions of dollars has economic consequences. Once nobody bought that anymore, they went after Visa—suing this nonmonopoly over “swipe fees,” as if pennies-on-the-transaction processing fees for businesses are why your grocery bill doubled.
It was never these companies’ fault. It was the government needing a villain that wasn’t a mirror.
Candeub doesn’t need to manufacture a villain to look tough. He’s got real ones already—the platforms actually censoring conservatives, actually crushing competitors, actually doing damage. He doesn’t need to go shake down everyone else to get a flashy press release for himself or PR cover for his boss.
Yet, in his forthcoming confirmation hearing, radical Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, such as Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., will no doubt still try to lecture Candeub about why his comments on restraining antitrust doesn’t reconcile with adequate “corporate accountability.” Just watch. They will never once ask him to base his decisions on sound legal thinking—they just want a big name to yell at so nobody asks why groceries still cost twice what they did four years ago.
DOJ Antitrust has been running without a Senate-confirmed boss for months while four major Big Tech cases sit in limbo, waiting for someone to actually call the shots. Every week the Senate slow-walks this, career bureaucrats and outside lobbyists get to keep steering the ship instead of Trump’s guy.
Candeub goes after real monopolists. He doesn’t manufacture fake ones for a news cycle. That’s exactly what the federal antitrust cops are supposed to do.
