Members of the House Freedom Caucus now face a challenge from a major green energy PAC that is spending at least $15 million this campaign cycle to defeat them for voting against former President Joe Biden’s Green New Deal agenda.
The Invest in Tomorrow Coalition PAC, which, according to Federal Election Commission filings obtained by the caucus, is bankrolled by multiple Kamala Harris donors, has already claimed to have unseated three other House Freedom Caucus members, Reps. Chip Roy, R-Texas, Ralph Norman, R-S.C., and Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., in their respective 2026 primaries earlier.
“HFC is the reason the taxpayer-funded Green New Scam is dead, and the left-wing Democrats behind these attacks want the gravy train started up again to line their own pockets,” Executive Director of the Freedom Caucus Fund Allison Weisenberger told the Daily Signal. “They want [House Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries as speaker so they can get the taxpayer money flowing again, ripping off American taxpayers and energy consumers in the process. The Freedom Caucus Fund is proud to stand with the patriots being attacked by this group.”
Members being targeted include Reps. Scott Perry, R-Pa., and Lauren Boebert, R-Colo.
According to the Freedom Caucus, the PAC is allegedly also targeting congressional candidates endorsed by the Freedom Caucus Fund, such as Brandon Herrera in Texas, Mike Beltran in Florida, and David Flippo in Nevada.
Despite the mounting opposition from the renewable energy industry, however, Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris, R-Md., told the Daily Signal that the Freedom Caucus “won’t back down” from voting against such proposals in Congress.

“We sure won’t let some green new scam grifters dictate the House,” Perry added, adding that the Invest in Tomorrow Coalition has admitted that “they’re rewriting the incentives for lawmakers.”
“Freedom Caucus isn’t like the Swamp—we answer to our voters, not special interests. But these people want Congress owned by an environmental PAC,” the Freedom Caucus chairman continued, adding that Democrats are hypocritical for claiming that they want to root out “money in politics,” but “cheer” when “green new scam grifter billionaires try to buy elections from conservatives.”
Perry, who is being targeted by the PAC, echoed the chairman’s remarks, adding that the “affordable energy” pushed by the green energy industry comes from people who are “liars and grifters” and use government mandates to make themselves rich, “while you struggle to pay your electricity bills because you’re now forced to buy the most expensive, least reliable generation on the planet.”
Perry added that now, because Freedom Caucus members “exposed their theft and grift,” they’re working hard to unseat them.
On Monday, the same PAC released attack advertisements against other Freedom Caucus members, such as Harris; Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz.; and outgoing Reps. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., and Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., who are now gubernatorial candidates in their respective states.
The Invest in Tomorrow Coalition did not respond to the Daily Signal’s request for comment.
