FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America has officially endorsed Sen. Jon Husted, R-Ohio, in his bid to retain his U.S. Senate seat.

According to a press release first shared with The Daily Signal, that support comes in the form of $3.25 million for 500,000 visits to Ohio voters before Election Day. There will also be a focus on “elect[ing] pro-life champions in key U.S. House races.”

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s effort will focus primarily on Toledo, Cincinnati, and Dayton. The group seeks to reach pro-life voters who may not consistently vote in the midterms and persuade others to vote for the cause of life.

“Our canvassers are fired up to talk to half a million voters at their doors and defeat [former Ohio Senator] Sherrod Brown a second time,” state director Mathew Mesa said, referencing the former Democrat senator seeking a comeback.

Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, defeated the incumbent Brown in 2024. But Husted’s seat is up for grabs in 2026 because Husted filled the vacancy Vice President JD Vance left after leaving the Senate.

“Our grassroots are especially passionate about stopping the abuse of women and babies with mail-order abortion drugs like the horrible recent case out of Toledo,” Mesa explained. “Pro-abortion Democrats will be spending millions against us because they benefit from the support of the brutal abortion industry, which they force us to fund with our tax dollars whenever they’re in power.”

Dr. Hassan Abbas, a Toledo surgical resident, was hit with felony charges after allegedly forcing his girlfriend to ingest crushed-up pills.

“In this midterm year, every single pro-life vote matters to protect and build up our majorities in Congress and we’ll be working tirelessly to deliver the wins,” Mesa added.

Husted is also endorsed by the SBA Pro-Life America Candidate Fund.

SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser released a statement in support of Husted.

“My friend Senator Jon Husted’s powerful personal background is a testament to the value of every human being,” Dannenfelser said in a statement. “The son of a courageous birth mother, adopted and raised with love and instilled with the values that make him the servant leader he is today, life isn’t just one more issue to him—it’s the human right that makes everything else possible. We must keep this good man in the U.S. Senate as part of a strong pro-life majority to protect historic victories like defunding Big Abortion businesses of taxpayer dollars.”

Dannenfelser’s statement also referenced Brown. Brown has an F rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s “national pro-life scorecard.”

“The contrast in this race could not be greater. Sherrod Brown is an extremist who backs a national all-trimester mandate and was rightly ousted just last cycle. Now he’s back for a rematch, but our experienced voter contact team knows Ohio well and will hit the ground running to expose radical Democrats like Brown and turn out the vote to elect pro-life champions to the Senate and House,” Dannfelser added.

The race could help determine which party controls the Senate. The Buckeye State also has House races to watch, including in the Cincinnati and Toledo areas.

“Ohio has a competitive Senate race and competitive House races this year, and with margins extremely close in both chambers right now, the stakes are high. These midterms will also be the first since redistricting last year changed the lay of the land, putting some previously ‘safe’ seats more in play,” Mesa told The Daily Signal about such races. “Ohio has long been an important battleground and these voters could very well hold the key to who holds the House and Senate come 2027.”

SBA Pro-Life America is making an $80 million investment for the 2026 midterms in an effort to reach 10.5 million voters for House, Senate, and gubernatorial battleground races.
