Trump Compares Sydney Sweeney Billboard to Woke Jaguar Ad

President Donald Trump revealed his stance on actress Sydney Sweeney following her controversial new American Eagle jeans ad.

Last week, American Eagle released a campaign with the “Euphoria” actress titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.” Leftists complained that the play on “genes” versus “jeans” was racist with “Nazi” overtones, while others found it to be a lighthearted play on words.

The New York Post reported that Sweeney has been a registered Republican in Monroe County, Florida, since June 2024. A reporter on Air Force One asked Trump for his reaction.

“She’s a registered Republican?” Trump said in response to discovering her political affiliation. “Oh, now I love her ad.”

“You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans,” Trump said. “That’s what I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”

In a Truth Social post, Trump compared the ad to luxury car company Jaguar’s November ad, featuring androgynous models wearing bright-colored, futuristic clothing.

“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying of the shelves.’ Go get ’em Sydney!” Trump said. “On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE, advertisement, THAT IS A DISASTER. The CEO just resigned, the company is in turmoil. … Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short but very Woke campaign, the Company.”

Trump said companies that prioritize woke messaging will not prosper.

“The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, BILLIONS OF DOLLARS LOST,” he said. “Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her.”

Vice President JD Vance has also commented on the ad.

“My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi. That appears to be their actual strategy,” Vance said on Friday on the “Ruthless” podcast.
