Former President Donald Trump has signed a presidential pledge to uphold the dignity of women and motherhood should he again become president of the United States, according to a national women’s group.
“As president of the United States, I promise to uphold the truth that women are exclusively female,” the pledge says. “Only women can be pregnant and bear children. Only women can be mothers. Under my administration, the status and dignity of women and girls will not be compromised in law or policy.”
Concerned Women for America announced this week that the former president signed its “Presidential Promise to American Women” put forth by CWA’s Legislative Action Committee. The organization is focused on fighting for the “unique dignity of women to be recognized in U.S. law and policy.”
“That sex is binary is a scientific reality, and all federal agencies will be directed to uphold this fact in every policy and program at home and abroad,” the pledge continues. “A persons’ claim of ‘gender identity’ does not overrule their sex.”
The pledge concludes: “My administration will focus on affirming sex-based distinctions that protect women in every area, such as shelters, prisons, housing, health care, defense, education, and sports. I will protect the dignity of women and motherhood in all circumstances.”
Concerned Women for America celebrated the former president’s pledge, expressing gratitude that “once more, Donald Trump is willing to join us in the battle to protect women and girls, and we hope all the other candidates will do the same.”
“Recent polling shows that the vast majority of American women from all political demographics are very eager for their future president to recognize the critical importance of this issue and be willing to fight on our behalf,” the organization said in a news release.
The move comes as 2024 presidential candidates and lawmakers across the nation grapple with the implementation of far-left gender ideology in women’s sports and spaces, such as locker rooms, bathrooms, swim teams, volleyball teams, and more.
Girls throughout the United States have begun speaking up against biological males who identify as “transgender” women accessing their spaces. Many lawmakers have taken steps to prevent this from happening, to ban irreversible sex-change procedures for children, and to safeguard children from being taught LGBTQ+ ideology in schools.
In June, CWA President Penny Nance met with Trump to discuss issues that concern women that her organization has met with. She praised him for saving “tens of thousands of lives” through his administration’s pro-life policies.
“I shared with President Trump the need to protect female athletes in sports who are forced to compete against men and the plight of parents fighting to protect their children from school officials working to sexualize and indoctrinate young minds without notification or consent,” she said at the time.
“President Trump was able to accomplish many things while he was in the White House, but our nation is at a tipping point due to the leftist agenda of the Biden administration,” Nance added. “There is much to do to protect American families; our right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion is a constant struggle. I thank President Trump for the opportunity to discuss these issues and look forward to working with him in the future.”
