Trump ‘Doing Really Well,’ Could Be Released From Hospital Soon, His Doctor Says

President Donald Trump could be released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he’s being treated for COVID-19, as early as Monday if his condition continues to improve.
“The fact of the matter is, is that he is doing really well, that he is—he is responding,” Trump’s doctor, Navy Cmdr. Dr. Sean Conley, said Sunday at a press conference at the hospital. “And as the team said, if everything continues to go well, we’re going to start discharge planning back to the White House.”
Trump has been at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since Friday evening, after he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus.

The president reportedly had two episodes of a drop in oxygen, once on Friday morning before he went to the hospital and again on Saturday, but Dr. Sean Dooley, a pulmonary critical care physician, said the president has been steadily improving.
“The patient continues to improve,” Dooley said. “He has remained without fever since Friday morning. His vital signs are stable.”
In a press conference Saturday, Conley said that Trump received a first dose of remdesivir, a broad-spectrum antiviral medication, on Friday evening and will be treated for five days with the IV drug.
On Saturday night, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows expressed concern about Trump’s health in an interview with Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro.
“He’s made unbelievable improvements from yesterday morning, when I know a number of us, the doctor and I, were very concerned,” Meadows said, adding:
The biggest thing that we see is that, with no fever now, and with him doing really well with his oxygen saturation levels … yesterday morning, we were real concerned with that.
You know, he had a fever, and his blood oxygen level had dropped rapidly … and yet, in typical style, this president was up and walking around.
In a video released Saturday from the medical center, Trump said that he “wasn’t feeling so well,” but that he feels “much better now.”
“We’re working hard to get me all the way back,” the president said.
Trump also briefly appeared in a vehicle to drive past supporters of his gathered outside the hopsital.
