Contract Video Editor
The Daily Signal is seeking a Contract Video Editor to support the production of high-quality video content on a project and ongoing basis. This role is ideal for a disciplined, fast-moving editor who can turn raw footage into polished videos. This is an independent contractor position and does not include benefits.
Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into compelling clips, interview packages, and short-form features or documentaries.
- Enhance videos with graphics, music, and sound design.
- Deliver final video products optimized for digital and social platforms.
- Create thumbnails and supporting assets to promote video content.
- Collaborate with producers and editors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strong editorial standards.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high production quality with minimal revisions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience editing video for news, media, or digital platforms.
- Strong visual storytelling skills and news judgment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere; familiarity with After Effects and Photoshop preferred.
- Experience producing content optimized for social media and YouTube.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly under deadline pressure.
Compensation
- Hourly contract rate (commensurate with experience).
- Assignment volume and total compensation will vary based on project needs.
