6-Figure Ad Buy Calls on Trump to Send This Message to China on AI Threats
FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Alliance for a Better Future will run a six-figure ad campaign urging President Donald Trump to discuss artificial intelligence safety with Chinese leader Xi Jinping during Thursday’s state visit.
The ad will encourage Trump to continue “beating China on AI without becoming China.”
“President Trump knows America wins by building AI that Americans can trust,” Janet Vestal Kelly, CEO of Alliance for a Better Future, said. “At the upcoming summit, the administration has the opportunity to strike a historic deal encompassing pre-release testing for national security risks, locking down the most dynamic models, guaranteeing human control over autonomous agents, and ending China’s AI theft with verifiable compliance.”
Alliance for a Better Future is a pro-family technology coalition launched in March that plans to spend at least eight figures this year to protect children from dangers presented by artificial intelligence.
“These are commonsense policies that create jobs, keep families safe, protect national security, and reflect our American values,” she added.
The AI race is top of mind for many in Washington heading into the summit. Tech companies like Anthropic and OpenAI have recently raised concerns about safety threats associated with rapidly developing AI, and many have urged the president to make a deal with Xi to slow down the AI race. But Trump has largely rejected the idea, stressing the need to win the AI race with China instead of imposing regulations on emerging U.S. technology.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S. and China would discuss a new system called “U.S.-China AI dialogue,” which would create a mechanism for the two nations to communicate when there are incidents that rise to “a national security level from AI.”
The ad asks Trump to “keep fighting for AI Americans can trust. AI built the American Way.”
“The future of AI should belong to the American people,” the ad says. “Not to a handful of companies, and not to liberal extremists who want to tell you how to live. President Trump knows this.”
“He knows we can build AI the right way: With trillions of investment here, new jobs created here, children and families safe here,” it continues. “AI that balances innovation and security.”
This new ad will run on digital platforms across Washington, D.C. It follows a seven-figure issue campaign that Alliance for a Better Future launched last week in Michigan, Iowa, Kansas, and Maine, advocating for meaningful AI safeguards and praising Republican Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers.
