The Heritage Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute and CNN are pleased to announce that the presidential debate on foreign policy and national security co-hosted by The Heritage Foundation will take place in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
The national security debate, a landmark first for AEI and Heritage, moved to November 22 to accommodate this season’s crowded debating schedule. The debate, set in Washington, D.C., will air live nationally at 8 p.m. on CNN, CNN en Español, and worldwide on CNN International, CNN Radio and CNN.com.
“The timing couldn’t be better. We’re setting the table for some lively family discussions at Thanksgiving,” Heritage President Edwin J. Feulner said. “Nothing is more important to the future of our nation than how we approach national security and foreign policy.”
The event marks the first time Heritage or AEI–both nonprofit, nonpartisan research institutes–has sponsored a presidential debate.
The Heritage Foundation is the nation’s most broadly supported public policy research institute, with more than 710,000 individual, foundation and corporate donors. Founded in 1973, it develops public policy solutions that advance free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional values and a strong national defense.
The American Enterprise Institute (aei.org), founded in 1943, is dedicated to limited government, competitive private enterprise, vital political and cultural institutions and vigilant defense.
CNN Worldwide (cnn.com), a division of Turner Broadcasting System Inc., includes nine cable and satellite television networks, two radio networks, CNN Digital Network and CNN Newsource.
