The Daily Signal seeks a highly organized, technically skilled Digital Content Producer to support The Tony Kinnett Cast through daily post-production, editing, and content preparation. This independent contractor role requires consistent weekday availability and the ability to turn around time-sensitive video content with accuracy and speed.
The contractor will be responsible for editing interview segments, supporting live-show production through research assistance, and helping prepare uploads and simulcast elements. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to develop or refine professional video-editing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit approximately 3–5 interview segments per week, generally 5–20 minutes each.
- Receive raw footage and deliver finalized edits by 5 p.m. ET on weekdays.
- Occasionally turn around clips independently (approximately once per week to start, with potential for additional assignments based on hours available).
- Assist in researching and gathering relevant clips, news items, and background material for the show throughout the day as needed.
- Support the nightly live show by acting as a live research reference, beginning 30 minutes prior to the show and continuing through its duration.
- Assist in creating, preparing, and scheduling titles, descriptions, and upload materials for video platforms, simulcasts, or podcast releases.
- Ensure all produced content meets high audio and video quality standards before delivery.
- Maintain smooth communication with the production team regarding file handoffs, deadlines, and project status.
- Follow The Daily Signal and The Tony Kinnett Cast brand guidelines, including basic graphic elements as needed (e.g., chyrons, on-screen text).
- Adapt to editorial feedback and follow specific formatting or stylistic directions.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience using professional video-editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable NLE software).
- Experience in fast-turnaround or news-adjacent environments preferred, but not required.
- Training available for candidates with strong technical aptitude.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage files, assets, and deadlines efficiently.
- Capacity to work under pressure and meet same-day turnaround requirements.
- High attention to detail and willingness to learn new workflows or tools.
- Technical Ability:
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or ability to learn quickly).
- Basic familiarity with social-platform uploads, YouTube descriptions, and thumbnail or simple graphic creation is a plus.
