FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Eric Conroy, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a former officer at the Central Intelligence Agency, has scored a big endorsement from Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo.

“I’m proud to endorse Eric Conroy for Congress in Ohio,” said Lummis in a statement first shared with The Daily Signal. “A dedicated veteran of the Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency, Eric will bring strong ‘America First’ leadership to Congress.”

Conroy is running in a crowded field to represent Ohio’s 1st Congressional District, currently represented by Rep. Greg Landsman, a vulnerable Democrat incumbent.

Republicans have long thought Landsman’s seat was flippable, but Ohio’s new congressional maps after redistricting have made Ohio’s 1st District a true “toss-up.”

Lummis has been focused on digital asset legislation during her time in office and has confidence in Conroy’s judgment on the issue.

“He is also a knowledgeable and passionate advocate for digital assets, committed to keeping this vital industry firmly rooted in America,” Lummis said. “His conservative, pro-crypto leadership is critically needed in Congress.”

Conroy shared a statement with The Daily Signal that expressed a similar appreciation for Lummis.

“Senator Lummis has done more than anyone in Washington to make sure the United States leads the world in digital asset innovation,” said Conroy. “Her endorsement means a great deal to me because we share the same vision: an America that is strong abroad, free at home, and smart enough to embrace the technologies that will define the next century.”

“In Congress, I’ll fight to pass clear, pro-growth rules for digital assets, protect consumers without strangling innovation, and make sure American entrepreneurs, not foreign competitors, build the future,” Conroy added. “I’m honored to have Senator Lummis in my corner.”

Conroy also scored the endorsement of Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, last month.

Lummis also endorsed Sen. Jon Husted, R-Ohio, in his special election against former Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat who lost to Moreno in 2024 but is now seeking a comeback.
