Fox News Channel has been the highest-rated TV network for 23 consecutive years and is on its way to making it 24 as year closes out.
According to Nielsen Big Data + Panel numbers released Friday, Fox News continued to dominate viewership in November and substantially outpaced CNN and MS NOW, formerly MSNBC, during the day and primetime slots. Fox News’ cable competition sunk to historic low ratings not seen since the 1990s.
Fox News averaged 2.38 million viewers during primetime, followed by MS Now (945,000 viewers) and CNN (556,000 viewers). Fox News more than doubled its competitors during the day, averaging 1.379 million viewers and topping MS Now with 600,000 viewers and CNN with 430,000 viewers.
Compared to its broadcast TV rivals, Fox News beat CBS (3,190,000 viewers) and NBC (3,142,000 viewers), even though both are more widely available.
Despite the primetime competition of ESPN’s Monday Night Football, Fox News still averaged 2.439 million viewers in weekday primetime while ESPN had a slightly lower average of 2.435 million viewers.
Fox News launched three new weekend shows in September, which are all dominating the network’s cable news competition.
“Saturday in America” with former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany is the most-watched cable news show on Saturday with an average of 1.3 million viewers. “My View” with Laura Trump on Saturdays garnered 1 million average viewers.
“The Sunday Briefing” with senior White House correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich ranked as the second most-watched cable news program on Sunday with 1.2 million average viewers.
