Sen. James Lankford: Young Americans Are ‘Afraid of Faith’

A discussion featuring James Lankford, who has been an advocate for upholding religious freedom throughout the world, and a distinguished panel of experts addressing what can be done to revive Jinnah’s legacy of religious freedom in Pakistan.

The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, but the government increasingly tries to limit that right as only freedom of worship, Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., told me in an on-camera interview at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC.

There is a big difference, he explained, pointing to a big reason to understand that.

“For whatever reason, the generation that’s coming up is afraid of faith,” Lankford told me. “[But] it’s not just that individuals can have faith; they can also live their faith. And also in America, you don’t have to have a faith at all. You’re not un-American because you have no faith.”

See why he says some in power want atheism to be the state religion.
