Brad and Dallas Woodhouse are brothers who occasionally spar with one another as political pundits on TV. The two are on opposite sides of the political spectrum and provide an entertaining take on policy issues.

They didn’t seem to have expected their mother would ever join them on TV, though.

During a conversation on C-SPAN, a caller who identified herself as “Joy” called from Raleigh, N.C. She turned out to be the brothers’ mom.

“Oh, God, it’s mom,” said Dallas Woodhouse after the woman began speaking.

Hilarity ensued from there.

Show host Steve Scully assured viewers that the call was unplanned and “Joy” had called in on the regular line.

It seems she had a bone to pick with her sons, who apparently argue politics a lot at the holiday table. Dallas is the president and founder of conservative group Carolina Rising, and Brad is president of the progressive Americans United for Change and American Bridge.

“I’m your mother and I disagree that all families are like ours,” Joy said. “I don’t know many families that are fighting at Thanksgiving. I was very glad that this Thanksgiving was the year you two were supposed to go to your in-laws—and I’m hoping you’ll have some of this out of your system when you come here for Christmas.”

The brothers seemed to get a kick out of the scene—and now the rest of us can enjoy it, too.
