By the Numbers: How the 2014 Midterm Elections Stack Up

For candidates, campaign staff and volunteers, and now voters, Election Day finally has arrived.

The 2014 midterm elections set some records, with more than $3 billion spent by candidates, party committees and political action committees. Candidates for the U.S. House and Senate — more than 1,600 in all — raised more than $1.5 billion.

Here’s a rundown, by the numbers.
