WATCH: Children With Down Syndrome Tell Pregnant Mom About the Happy Life Her Son With Down Syndrome Will Have

Don’t be scared. Be excited.

That’s the underlying message of a new video that responds to a pregnant women’s anxiety about expecting a child with Down Syndrome.

“I’m expecting a baby. I’ve discovered he has Down Syndrome,” an unnamed woman e-mailed. “I’m scared: What kind of life will my child have?”

CoorDown, an Italian organization that supports people with Down Syndrome, responded to her e-mail with a video that features 15 different children with Down Syndrome talking about their lives.

“Your child will be able to do many things,” the children reassure her.  “He’ll be able to hug you. He’ll be able to run toward you. He’ll be able to speak. He’ll be able to go to school like everybody.”

In the United States, many unborn children with Down Syndrome have been aborted. “Abortion-on-demand has taken the lives of more than 55 million children in the U.S.—including large numbers of children diagnosed with Down syndrome and other disabilities—and has sentenced countless women to physical and emotional harm,” wrote Heritage’s Sarah Torre.

March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day.
