The so-called “fact checkers” are acting more like President Obama’s surrogates than independent analysts. On issue after issue, they’re simply ignoring the facts. And when it comes to the Obama administration’s changes to welfare reform, they’re getting it wrong over and over again.

Ever since July 12, when the Department of Health and Human Services rewrote the successful welfare reform law of 1996, Heritage’s Robert Rector has explained in detail how the administration’s new directive allows states to waive work requirement, gutting the reform of its most critical element and bludgeoning the letter and intent of the law.

He’ll make that case again today at our Bloggers Briefing at noon ET. It will run approximately one hour. Rector is also planning to preview the Census Bureau’s forthcoming poverty report.

The Bloggers Briefing was founded in May 2006 as a weekly policy discussion for conservative bloggers and journalists. Follow the action on Livestream or ask a question on Twitter using the hashtag #BloggersBriefing.
