Honoring #MyVeteran: 17 Photos of Your Heroes

Ericka Andersen /

Each year, we ask you to submit photos of the veterans you love and cherish.

We are flooded with photos of your sons, daughters, husbands, wives, grandparents and more. From those currently serving overseas to as far back as World War I, your tributes are important reminders that our freedom is hard won.

This week, we published a story about a Vietnam War draftee, who just retired after more than 40 years of service. Yesterday, we celebrated the 239th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps with some amazing photos of Marines in action. We honor veterans every day at The Daily Signal, but today it’s about your loved ones.

Thanks to so many who submitted their photos. Here are some of our favorites.

In honor of Veterans Day this week I’d like to share a pic of ?#MyVeteran .This is one of my favorite homecoming pics of Nick and the kids. It’s a day none of us will ever forget. Surprising them seemed a little crazy but it was so awesome to see their raw emotions and feel the love they have for their dad. Thank you Nick for your 11 years of service, the three deployments, the countless hours of training, and everything you’ve sacrificed for not only our family but for this country.
