What’s in Nancy Pelosi’s Secret Sauce?

Not oil!

In a Washington Post puff piece helping Speaker Nancy Pelosi sell her new book, “Know Your Power,” Pelosi is quoted: “The men had ruled the roost for such a long time, and they liked that environment. They had this attitude of, ‘We know how to get this done, and there’s a secret sauce to it.’ They never said it that way, but that’s how I heard it: ‘There’s a secret sauce, and you can’t possibly know the recipe because we do.'”

Well it sure didn’t take long for Pelosi to develop her own ‘secret sauce’ for ruling the House. The main ingredient? Arrogance. Explaining why she refuses to even allow a debate, let alone a vote, on expanded offshore drilling (a policy position the vast majority of Americans support), Pelosi told the Politico: “I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet. I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”

Got that America? Pelosi’s not gonna have her House “trivialized” by a real debate over the most pressing issue on Americans’ minds, because she is single handily trying to save the planet. Let’s hope Pelosi leaves the rest of her recipe ideas at home.
